Stepping out on faith can be uncomfortable for many of us.
The fear of the unknown, thoughts of not being equipped for the mission or shifting from a place of complacency can be unsettling in the beginning. However, if we continue to work through those unsettling beginnings, the reward will be great.
I can remember a moment in my health and wellness profession when fear of the unexpected happened. It was at a national healthcare conference. The attendees included my peers, physicians, administrators, and researchers.
Now was coming for the time in the program for one of my peers to do an exercise demonstration. As it turns out she did not show up in time to facilitate her scheduled session. I was asked to take the lead and do the demonstration instead. With much reservation, I accepted the invitation.
I nervously stood waiting to embrace this great opportunity to triumph over the fear of public speaking. It was now time for me to execute what my college degrees had prepared me for.
I stood near the crowd with my heart racing, legs trembling, and shallow breathing.
Then I heard the words “we are ready for you, come forth”. I realized the spotlight was on me, and there was no turning back.
I walked past the crowd trembling, shaking, and oh so nervous. After walking what seemed like a mile, I finally made it to the stage. I amplified my voice with excitement and led participants through a well-received exercise demonstration.
When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Luke 8: 47-48
Faced with multiple issues, this woman with the issue of blood had the opportunity to demonstrate her faith before The King.
Positioned in a crowd, with nothing to lose, she touched the border of Jesus’ garment. She was instantly healed of a medical condition that could not be cured by man.
Perceiving that power had left His body, Jesus asked, “Who touched me?”
As a Kingdom Woman, I can relate to this woman in the Bible. She had to humble herself, open her mouth and confess to The King and a crowd of people that she had touched Him.
This faith-walking woman, who is notoriously identified as the woman with the issue of blood, was now identified by Jesus as His daughter.
The King’s Daughter…
- Stands firm in the faith. She is courageous and strong (1 Corinthians 16:13)
- Trust in the Lord completely. She does not rely on her own understanding. In all her ways, she acknowledges the Lord, who directs her paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
- Has confidence in knowing that what looks impossible to man is possible with God (Matthew 19:26)
- She is not moved by what her eyes see because she walks by faith. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
- Understands that The King reigns and rules over every area of her life. (Psalms 103:19)
No longer should you remain hidden behind people, your mistakes, fears, failures, or disappointments. It is time for you to come forth, take your rightful place in the earth, and embrace all The King has in store for you.
The King’s Daughter understands that her life is not her own because her life is regulated by The King’s rulership.
Do you want to know how to become a daughter of The King?
It begins with accepting him as your Lord and Savior.
If you have not already, will you come forth and accept the Gift of Salvation?
If yes, then pray this prayer…
Father, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I declare with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. I believe that Jesus paid for my sins on the cross and God raised Him from the dead. Father, forgive me of all my sins. Today, I put my faith and trust in Christ Jesus as my only hope for eternal life. I declare that Christ is my Savior and Lord. Thank you for saving me. Scripture reference (Romans 10: 9)
